Position Overview
The SAS System Responsible – Commissioning is part of the Project Commissioning Team and reports functionally to the Commissioning System Lead SAS. The role is responsible for planning and executing commissioning activities related to the Safety and Automation System (SAS).
The position is rotational, starting onshore in Stord and continuing offshore during execution phases.
Position Purpose
Contribute to the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of completions and commissioning activities across project delivery.
Ensure commissioning, certification, verification, and handover activities meet project and operational requirements.
Implement the commissioning certification and handover process in accordance with the Project Completion Strategy.
Be accountable for the safe and efficient handover of plant and equipment to Operations upon completion of commissioning activities.
Roles & Responsibilities
Provide guidance and direction to relevant disciplines with strong focus on Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE).
Support commissioning execution by ensuring adequate resources and manning according to project needs.
Actively contribute to safe work execution and continuous improvement during commissioning phases.
Key Responsibilities
As part of the project Commissioning SAS Team, the SAS System Responsible shall:
Manage contractors and other resources delivering services, materials, or equipment for SAS commissioning.
Cooperate closely with discipline engineers and package teams to ensure correct SAS execution.
Participate in Mechanical Completion (MC) rounds with Construction and follow up system delivery.
Plan and execute cabinet power-up activities and establish system communication.
Witness supplier and contractor tests as required, including Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
Implement commissioning scope in accordance with approved procedures.
Ensure a smooth and structured transition from Project to Operations.
Participate in pre-start-up reviews and performance testing when required.
Qualification Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
Relevant technical experience may compensate for formal education.
Experience
Experience from offshore oil and gas projects.
Operational experience from similar assets or facilities is considered an advantage.
