We are looking for a skilled Automation Engineer to join a large oil & gas FEED project covering new platform design, brownfield modification work, and multiple contractual interfaces.The right candidate will have the opportunity to further develop their competence within automation system engineering, with particular focus on PDCS system design in a complex, multi-interface project environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform system design activities for automation interfaces to electrical equipment, as appointed by the Automation Group Lead
Design automation solutions in accordance with Client requirements, ensuring consistent and global design solutions across contractual interfaces
Develop automation interfaces to electrical equipment packages during the FEED phase
Follow up vendors and vendor technical documentation, including planning and coordination of package engineering activities
Ensure that required vendor and engineering information is identified and communicated to the project to support progress
Interface with other disciplines, suppliers, and the Client
Prepare and complete engineering documents and maintain data registers
Participate in offshore surveys when required
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree or higher
Required Work Experience
Minimum 10 years of experience in automation engineering within greenfield projects
Minimum 6 years of experience in automation design for electrical interfaces, including solid knowledge of IEC 61850
Extensive experience and thorough knowledge of automation design and networks in accordance with relevant standards, including NORSOK, ATEX, PTIL, and IEC
Required Qualifications
Efficient communicator with strong English skills, both oral and written
Cooperative working attitude and ability to work in a multicultural team environment
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in teams
Systematic and accurate, with strong commitment to deadlines and quality requirements
Proactive mindset, seeking advice when needed and sharing experience with others
Required Certificates
Valid FSE course for the duration of the engagement
Valid EX course for the duration of the engagement
