Commissioning Engineer Heat Trace Stavanger

This position is fully mobile with base location onshore Yard at Stavanger and Stord, and at later stage Offshore.

Description
The Commissioning Engineer Heat Trace is responsible for engaging and performing Completion and Commissioning activities related to the fabrication testing, documentation preparation and system testing of PWP topside equipment with special attention to Heat Trace scope.


Position Purpose
• Role to ensure completion and commissioning requirements of all PWP process systems, meeting all Aker BP’s project and operational requirements, including verification and assurance.
• Responsible for implementing the commissioning certification and handover process according to Project Completion Strategy for relevant systems.
• Responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient handover of relevant systems to the Asset Operations team upon completion of commissioning activities.
• Create detailed commissioning plans for heat trace systems.
• Supervise the installation and commissioning of heat trace systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
• Coordinate Heat Trace activity regarding pipe test and Insulation.
• Perform quality checks on heat trace calculations, isometrics, and block diagrams.
• Conduct functional tests and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the commissioning process.
• Maintain comprehensive commissioning documentation and provide regular progress reports.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
• Provide training and guidance for operation and maintenance of heat trace systems.
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities
Overall responsible for Heat Trace systems, providing supervision, direction, and guidance with regards to:
• Execution of Commissioning activities assigned by the Comm System Lead Electro
• Verify Construction Field installations are according to design/ISO/P&ID's in collaboration with System Lead
• Knowledge/knowledge of reading/understanding P&ID's and ISO's · Participate in check-out, verification (Walk Down/Yellow line) according to the RFCC Hand-Over Process
• Plan and facilitate for check-out/execution of static commissioning
• Plan and facilitate for Dynamic Commissioning activities
• Participate in meetings for planning Commissioning activities
• According to good Alliance practice, ensure good communication between operation, maintenance, contractors, and suppliers
• Daily reporting to the Commissioning System Lead regarding ongoing Commissioning activities
• Updates of Master Dossier for P&ID Red-line Mark-up, Valve and Blinding list according to System Lead's instructions
• Assist with the collection of documentation related to RFOC Hand-over according to the System Lead's instructions
• Participate in pre-start-up and performance test reviews when necessary
• Contribute and advice related to Process input to overall Completion strategy and planning
• Provide guidance and direction to the Process Commissioning Team, contributing in:
Develop and review relevant commissioning procedures.

Qualification requirements
Education
• BSc. in Engineering or a related field or equivalent education / experience.
• Electrician Certificate
• Documented Ex competence with valid classroom courses

Commissioning Engineer Stord

Location: This position is fully mobile with base location onshore office Stord. Position to mobilize offshore when required.Duration: 03.11.2025 – 30.09.2027

Position Purpose

Ensure completions and commissioning requirements for all projects are carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with project and operational requirements, including verification and assurance.

Implement the commissioning certification and handover process according to the defined Project Completion Strategy.

Accountable for the safe and efficient handover of plant and equipment to the Operations team upon completion of commissioning activities.

Responsibilities

Provide guidance and direction to relevant disciplines, maintaining a strong focus on health, safety, and the environment.

Deliver commissioning support to projects, including ensuring adequate manning levels according to project needs.

Act as site Commissioning Authority during commissioning phases when required.

Contribute to project forecasts, schedules, and cost estimates associated with the commissioning scope for Fire & Gas (F&G) deliverables.

Provide input on Fire & Gas testing and verification as part of the overall Completion strategy and planning.

Ensure compliance with additional requirements and relevant performance standards.

Manage contractors and resources providing services, materials, or equipment for Fire & Gas System Commissioning.

Collaborate with relevant disciplines and package teams to:

Witness contractor/supplier tests (FAT/SAT) as necessary.

Follow up on field installation to ensure quality and adherence to the commissioning schedule.

Develop, review, and implement Fire & Gas commissioning procedures.

Implement the commissioning scope at site(s) and offshore.

Ensure a smooth transition from Project to Operations.

Lead and coordinate the commissioning test team during dynamic commissioning.

Participate in pre-start-up and performance test reviews when necessary.

Required Expertise

BSc in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent education/experience.

Previous project operations experience is highly beneficial.

Documented Ex competence with valid classroom training.
