D&W Cost Controller
important: Valid work permit in Norway and NORSOK operator experience is mandatory
The D&W Cost Controller is responsible for follow-up of well construction costs, including forecasting, reporting, and variance analysis for assigned assets. The role supports and challenges budget owners and drilling teams to ensure accurate cost control in line with value of work done (VOWD) principles, applicable contracts, and business finance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Follow up well costs including actuals, commitments, accruals, forecasts, and variance analysis
Support drilling teams with monthly cost follow-up, reporting, and forecasting
Prepare DCE and AFE per well (including supplemental AFEs) using cost driver models and submit for approval
Maintain and update forecasts in Fiori and provide input to business planning
Review PRs and cost transactions, prepare accruals, repostings, and loaders as required
Calculate and allocate rig intake and common rig-related costs and present status to SCM/Contract
Facilitate regular cost reviews with budget owners and managers
Prepare final well cost summaries for after-action reviews and well scorecards
Contribute to MLC calculations, JV reporting, cash calls, and financial reporting
Perform end-of-well activities including well and inventory reconciliation
Conduct cost analyses and “what-if” scenarios
Support partner audits when required
Prerequisites
Active user of SAP, Power BI, data warehouse tools, Fiori forecasting app, and cost driver models
Knowledge of JOA, alliance contracts, and Norwegian Oil and Gas Guidelines 077
Understanding of drilling and well operations and VOWD principles
Ability to communicate cost status and variances clearly to budget owners
Awareness of market trends affecting well costs
Experience with Business Management System (BMS) processes
