Senior Automation Engineer

We are seeking an experienced automation engineer to join a major oil and gas C-study for an FPSO. The project involves the design of new topside and hull systems, with strong emphasis on integrated global design solutions across several contractual interfaces. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to develop expertise within early-phase conceptual engineering for SAS and related automation systems.
Responsibilities include:
System design, interfaces and follow-up of Safety and Automation System activities as assigned by the automation discipline lead; development of philosophies for global SAS and automation design covering topside SAS, hull, subsea and other major contractual interfaces; providing input to and reviewing technical studies carried out by vendors; preparing and completing engineering documents and data registers; and ensuring efficient collaboration with other disciplines, contractors, suppliers and the client.
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree or higher.
Required Work Experience:
At least 15 years of automation engineering experience from greenfield projects; minimum 8 years of experience within automation and SAS system design, including SAS/automation network solutions; documented experience with follow-up of large multidiscipline packages; and solid knowledge of automation design and networks in accordance with standards such as NORSOK, ATEX, PTIL and IEC.

Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken; cooperative working style and ability to thrive in a multicultural team; capability to work independently as well as collaboratively; systematic and accurate work approach with strong commitment to deadlines and quality; and a proactive mindset with willingness to seek advice and share knowledge.
Required Certificates:
Valid FSE course and valid Ex course for the full duration of the engagement.
