We are seeking a Technical Data Specialist – Geospatial to join a collaborative and forward-thinking team. In this role, you will serve as a key point of contact for managing and maintaining subsea survey data that supports asset integrity and operational excellence.
This position offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of data management, digital solutions, and subsea engineering — helping ensure that high-quality geospatial data is available, organized, and accessible to technical teams and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Receive, transfer, manage, and catalog multimedia data, including videos, images, and acoustic datasets.
Develop and execute quality control scripts to handle and validate large volumes of data.
Manage and organize data within maintenance and integrity systems.
Collaborate with contractors and subsea teams to enhance data quality and optimize delivery workflows.
Support subsea engineers with data gathering, management, and visualization needs.
Establish and operate a video management system with clear governance, metadata standards, and retention policies.
Typical Tasks
Transfer data between suppliers, contractors, and internal systems.
Perform data quality checks using Python and other scripting or analytical tools.
Manage and control access to cloud storage solutions (e.g., Azure Blobs).
Load, process, and ingest data into integrity and visualization systems.
Administer storage environments, establish service accounts, and manage user access.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in data engineering, digital data management, or a related technical discipline.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in data management, preferably within a technical or industrial setting.
Strong skills in Python and other scripting or automation languages.
Demonstrated ability to think critically and solve complex data management challenges.
Experience with digital transformation or change implementation initiatives.
Prior experience within the oil & gas industry is an advantage.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English or Norwegian.
