Role Description
We are seeking a Field Engineer – Construction to join our site team in Buøy/Stord. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring construction quality, discipline coordination, and compliance with project standards while demonstrating strong HSSEQ leadership and commitment to Company SAFER values.
Key Responsibilities
Demonstrate HSSEQ leadership through active engagement, visible commitment, and promotion of the Company’s HSSEQ principles and SAFER values.
Review and verify technical documentation and requirements to ensure appropriate quality and standard.
Monitor construction activities for structural, mechanical, and piping disciplines to ensure effective interfaces across all trades.
Act as an integral member of the Company site team, reporting to the Construction Manager and driving performance within your discipline.
Follow up contractors’ performance regarding construction, MC, and QC through inspections (including pre-fabrication sites) and report any non-conformities.
Participate in inspection activities as defined by the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
Support production teams with technical interpretation of drawings and job bases.
Maintain close communication with work leaders, method and shop engineering, and PRE.
Ensure that operators possess adequate skills and uphold installation quality standards.
Follow up on Mechanical Completion (MC) documentation, assist in verification of MC certificates, and manage punch items.
Track site progress and ensure documentation integrity throughout installation.
Oversee receipt, storage, and preservation of materials and equipment to maintain traceability and condition.
Participate in SJA, Risk Assessments, HAZID, HAZOP, and other HSSEQ-related reviews as required.
Contribute to Management of Change (MoC) processes and project risk workshops, identifying and managing opportunities, risks, and mitigation actions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Equivalent experience may compensate for formal education.
Proactive, solution-oriented, and able to work collaboratively with contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
Strong team player with proven HSSEQ focus and commitment.
Experience with Mechanical Completion systems such as PIMS CMS, MIPS, or IFS.
Knowledge of auditing processes within Quality and HSSE.
